Police solve Bhaderwah bank robbery case;1 arrested

Doda, Dec 27: Police have finally managed to apprehend a youth involved in the day light robbery within the premises of Punjab National Bank Bhaderwah on December 10.
Identified as Muhammad Ashraf S/o Wali Muhammad R/o Kathawa Tehsil Thathri, the accused was arrested by a police team, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Doda, Mohammad Arif Rishu.
Police said that the accused was arrested on the clue from the CCTV footage and the cell phone he had snatched from the victim alongwith Rs 60000. The looted bounty was also recovered on his disclosure.
It said that on December 10, Vinod Wazir S/o Duni Chand Wazir R/o Sarol Bagh Bhaderwah had withdrawn an amount of Rs.60000 from Jammu and Kashmir Bank Bhaderwah and was in process of depositing it in accounts of his daughters in Punjab National Bank Bhaderwah.   “The money was being deposited for the use of his daughters who are presently outside the state for their studies”, police said adding that the accused person, who was following the victim, snatched the bag at PNB and managed to flee from the spot.
The accused was following the victim right from Jammu and Kashmir Bank where from he had withdrawn the money and was in search of an opportunity to overpower him and snatch the money, police said.
“A mobile phone was also in the bag which was snatched by the accused”, a police spokesman said adding, “The accused discarded the SIM card but used the stolen mobile for his personal use”, he said adding that the police got a major lead after analyzing the used mobile handsets leading to arrest of accused.
